Yep. Uh-huh. I did it. 50k done. Time to train for the 50 miler in November.

It’s been a while!

I’ve been training hard. The 50k is in exactly 1 freaking week. I think I’m going to make a shirt that says “I can’t believe I’m actually doing this!!”.

It’s impossible to catch up on everyone but I’m going to try! Anyone commit to anything insane lately?! :)

Some serious shit happened on Friday…

I signed up for a FREAKING 50 miler. Can we say” next level”?? Every single time I think about this, my heart jumps a bit and I seriously question my sanity. What am I thinking? I can just run a marathon and then turn around at the end and run back to the beginning? And be totally fine? No biggie?!

Sheeets…this is getting intense. I love it!!!

All the Ultra-marathoners and/or nuts like me that want to be ultra-marathoners…

What kind of training do you suggest? 5/6 runs a week? Back to backs every week?? Length of training? Crosstraining? Speedwork?

I just PRed a marathon a week and a half ago, so I’m pretty well trained so far. Where to begin?

I do SOOOOO much better during training if I have a set sched but I’m not sure where exactly to begin!

In lieu of running because of this stupid throbbing calf pain I just had a 16 mile bike adventure with Thing 2. Pulling around 50lbs on the back of your road bike is a sufficient workout, I’d say. Especially through the wind. That thing is like a bag of rocks! My legs are soooo dead now.

I’m so glad the nice weather is here, though! I look forward to future quad burning adventures!

New shoes did not make the cut. I’m starting to wonder if I’m….injured? Please, say it isn’t so. Any tips for calf burning pain? Also, it seems to be radiating up into my butt cheek, too, now. I will be on the foam roller until further notice.

I’m baaaack! After a breather and some crazy races and trips, I think I’m back. Marathon is in 2 short weeks and my calf has been KILLING me. Bought some new shoes and socks. Going to give them a whirl around the neighborhood.
